As explained the page dedicated to Inner Child Healing, this technique is a mix of many approaches, clinical and self-conceptualisation, looking at interpersonal relationships, patterns and nervous system regulation. To be more clear, the point of Inner Child Healing is to allow you to meet your past with compassion so you can stop repeating old patterns and start living with more conscious ease, joy, and self-trust and love.

Feeling Safe in your Emotions
I am going to be honest with you, as someone who went through AEDP therapy herself, a very big part of this process will be about figuring out what feels safe to experience in your body or not, addressing the parts of you and old wounds that never felt safe showing their faces, and gently approaching them. There is no clear guidebook on how long it takes to do this, or how to do it right, but the only real factor is to do it with self-kindness and to keep on doing it a little more openly every time.
It can sound and look scary as emotions are seen as those big explosive things, but really they are only very valid parts of you, that need to be treated as any other body reactions, such as tiredness or hunger, it will come around whether you want it or not, and when you treat them with kindness, it will bring you the most fulfilled life you can imagine.
Self-Limiting Beliefs and Why they trigger you
Ever wonder why you get so angry whenever your boss points out one small mistake you’ve made? Why it’s really hard for you to stop focusing on one small little detail in your presentation as perfectionist? Why it seems to touch you way more than everybody else when someone cuts you off in a conversation? All of those small factors that tick you off are triggers, and they come from the natural way our brain functions and store information. As human beings, we naturally adapt to the world around us to survive, but that means that growing up our brain stored a lot of non-literal information, literally. Meaning that when we are told that doing something bad means we have no desert repetitively as a child, our brain will store that information as “We are only rewarded, kept safe and valuable when we do good things”.
Our parents never told us that we were not loved if we made a mistake, but the brain stores information differently. In I.C.H counselling, we unpack the hidden belief and meaning under your triggers and wounds, to help you see yourself, and the world around you, in a way that makes you happier, feel more safe, and at peace.
How to Reparent yourself
When working with the Inner Child, we learn how to communicate to parts of us that still exists within. Those parts of us will alway exist and need some care and tending to, Inner Child Healing teaches you how to decipher your internal codes, wisdom and needs easily. During that process, self-regulation and emotional check-ins techniques are taught, in order for you to find long term balance in your relationships, work environment and emotions. In return, this will help you to keep internal peace and balance, without feeling like you always need to be doing work to feel the peace and happiness you spent time and energy building.

What trainings do I have to carry out this technique ?
Before becoming an Inner Child Healing Practitioner, I studied Social Sciences and Behaviour at University, before moving on to work in NGOs.
There, I studied trauma theory, symptoms and recovery to help design community support social programs and women’s circles. Throughout the event management, I myself lead events in both English & Spanish, about inter-generational trauma, triggers, emotional regulation, and other topics, first introducing me to the key concepts of facilitation and holding an inviting and healing energy.
Finally, I got my Inner Child Healing Practitioner formation and accreditation from the Certified Excellence coaching School, accredited by the CMA, IAOTH and IPHM.
As a young practitioner, I am always in the pursuit of knowledge to better understand the impact of trauma on our minds and bodies and its recovery. I am currently learning the H.E.A.L trauma recovery technique by the famous Dr. Gabor Maté, as well as somatic practises. I believe that it is never too early to help others heal and get to a more empowered version of themselves.
